The shop, Take Me Home, is situated in the city’s Upper Town and is the perfect place to pick up a momento or gift, as well as supporting local innovators and creators. Plus, the shop’s curators favour products made from recycled materials, so you can keep your eco footprint down.

An Introduction to Poland’s Robert Majkut

Last week I became aware of the work of Robert Majkut who was born in Szczecin in 1971 and has become one of the most important leading Polish designers and creator of places with a special character.  Since 1988 he has been involved in art as a graphic artist, painter and creator of installations.

He is a man of a breakthrough era and his creations interpret the social and cultural changes in Poland.  For Robert the cultural aspect of design is the inalienable permeability of the past and present; his mantra, “the future is tomorrow invented today”.

He has been honoured by the highest authorities of the Repubic of Poland, sector and journalist groups, and among others, nominated for an Elle Style Award.

He is internationally renowned as the one who changes Polish public spaces offering his nation a better quality of life and has designed everything from banks to cinemas.

Kristian Steinberg to Debut at London Fashion Week AW11

London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2011 kicks off this Friday and we at Charlotte’s VVeb are particularly excited about the debut of Kristian Steinberg.  The London-based Estonian menswear designer will showcase his designs at London Fashion Week for the first time this season.  The Central Saint Martins graduate established his label in 2007 and has created dresses for the likes of Kylie Minogue and HRH Queen Rania of Jordan; while fans of his menswear label include Brett Anderson and Billy Bob Thornton.  The designer will unveil his autumn/winter 2011 collection Scars on 23rd February 23 at the Rag Factory.

Top 10 Styles Baltic Fashion Catwalk Berlin Fashion Week AW11

The theme to the Usedom Baltic Fashion Catwalk held at Berlin Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2011 was from the Bath Tub for the Berliners to the Fashion Island of the Baltic Sea. The show has been a platform for designers from the Baltic region for more than 10 years.  The show featured: Marita Huurinainen (Finland) – Wave and Poems;  Agnese Narnicka (Latvia) – Coming Soon; Grosser Heinrich (Germany) – Blue – the foxes of August 2nd; Zanete Auzina (Latvia) – The Dream.
